Version OSG Courts V1.2.1.alpha.7
Effective 12.02.2018
OSG Courts is a component for the Joomla CMS. It can be used to publish courts on your own website that can be reserved by players.
An extended description of the functionality can be found on our product site.
Installation
The Installation is done using the administration area of the Joomla CMS.
In the OSG Courts Administration Area you see the main menu on the left side. This menu leads to all parts of the software.
Courts are the main component of this software. A court can be created and defined using this link. There, you also assign timeslots, their types and price groups to the court.
Every court can be assigned to a category. This way, links to a category of courts can be generated for the frontend.
Bookings are made by users via the frontend. They can be viewed and changed using this link in the backend. There are also print views for the bookings.
Timeslots are time frames a court can be booked. You can create timeslots using this link. These timeslots can then be assigned to a court in the backend.
A price group consists of prices for each possible group size that can be booked. It is assigned to timeslot objects, that are managed in the court backend. The price group can be changed using this link.
Using this link you can change the timeslots for a specific day. This is necessary, if there is e.g. a holiday in the week or if you want to create special events.
If you want to close a court for like a week or more, you will not want to change the timeslots for each day. A court maintenance can be created for a court using this link.
For courts and also for the booking form you may want to create your own custom fields. Use this link to create groups of custom fields for these purposes.
The frontend essentially consists of three parts:
There are three court overviews that can be used to list courts of a category. These contain links to single court views and/or the booking form. Information that is displayed include the title, difficulty, overview image and short description. The court titles and the overview images can be linked to the single court view.
In the single Court View a more detailed image for the court can be viewed, as well as the detailed description. Beneath these elements, a calendar can be placed. Using the calendar, the user can view what days the court can still be booked (green or yellow colors). If the user clicks on a day, a day view is displayed next to the calendar. All timeslots that can be booked for the selected court and day are displayed. If the timeslot is still bookable, the user can click it. A booking form opens for that combination of day and court.
Using this form the user can reserve a timeslot for the selected court. After sending the form, the user will receive an email with a link. Clicking the link, the user can confirm the reservation.
